Although tequila cocktails can be found across the globe, “real” tequila is only allowed to be produced in certain parts of Mexico. Not surprisingly, most of it hails from (or near) the city of Tequila, located in the state of Jalisco in western Mexico, where the area’s unique red volcanic soil is ideal for growing the agave plant, which is always harvested by hand.

The best and most popular combinations of tequila cocktails include using fresh fruits or vegetables, spices, custom sea salts and even flavored ice to add a refreshing twist to a common cocktail. The increased tequila knowledge of the American consumer has helped drive thirst, but it’s the mixology that has that has been key to tequila’s growth. Without the creation of quality cocktails by mixologists, tequila would not have the popularity it’s experiencing today.”
